Argosy to provide expandable, stackable and automated switches by Allied Telesis for high-performance networking and data integrity

Argosy, a leading international supplier of broadcast cables and infrastructure products, has announced a strategic partnership with networking specialist, Allied Telesis. The collaboration brings a new range of intelligent switching equipment to the broadcast industry, promising to simplify and better control networks through automation, in a world where network management has become increasingly critical and complex.

The addition of the Allied Telesis x950 series of expandable switches to the Argosy range of networking products brings extra intelligence and security to the table, whilst reducing the risks and cost usually associated with such projects and preserving the integrity of all data on the network.

Allied Telesis traditionally occupies sectors which demand the most secure and most resilient critical infrastructures – applications and solutions which transition pertinently to the broadcast sector, in particular when it comes to live and outside broadcasting.

“We are delighted to offer our customers a new range of intelligent hardware for broadcast, that allows them to take full control of their network,” said Chris Smeeton, director at Argosy. “In the era of ultra-high definition TV and IP production, network management has become more important and more demanding, requiring the most intelligent of solutions. Allied Telesis is the ideal partner for Argosy, as their products answer the most advanced networking needs of our broadcast customers.”

For growing networks that demand the fastest of speeds, the x950 from Allied Telesis is the ideal switch to place at the core of a high-performing modern enterprise network. Stackable for a resilient local or distributed solution, its bandwidth can be increased anytime by adding more high-speed ports. It comes with 100 Gigabit in-built connectivity to enable today’s IoT networks.

“We have over 30 years experience in the networking industry, which are built into the technologies we have developed for critical infrastructures,” said Stephen Webber, partner account manager, UK & Ireland at Allied Telesis. “We are at the forefront of the current IoT and cloud computing boom and we are delighted to work with Argosy to bring our range of network switches to the broadcast industry, to help media companies manage and monitor their network through total autonomous networking, to ensure their mission critical networks remain resilient.”

The Allied Telesis product range allows media companies to ensure service delivery, reduce management and lower costs. Key to this is the centralisation of management functions that enable services such as backup, recovery and new device provisioning to be done autonomously by the network. Integration with existing Firewall technologies also creates a Self-Defending network that secures all wired and wireless connections throughout the network for security of data. Finally, critical applications are guaranteed the necessary bandwidth by optimising WAN connections using SD-WAN.

Argosy will be showcasing the Allied Telesis x950 series on its stand no. 10.C51 at IBC2019.
