Argosy will showcase its expanded range of infrastructure solutions at Broadcast Asia 2013.

In collaboration with its joint venture partner, Argosy Broadcast Asia Sdn Bhd (ABA), Argosy will debut for the first time in Asia its new range of IEC-lock™ mains cables, the new Fischer Triax HD Pro+ solution and the mini BNC connector from Amphenol.  Additionally Argosy will demonstrate other components from its portfolio of HD infrastructure including the Argosy range of Mains Distribution Units (MDUs) alongside its world-renowned IMAGE cables on the company’s stand (no. 5E2.01) at the Marina Bay Sands, Singapore, 18-21 June 2013.

Forming part of the new additions to the Argosy range, the IEC-Lock mains cable incorporates a locking mechanism to fasten it to the earth pin.  The connector features a red button, which must be depressed to unlock the lead. This added feature helps secure critical equipment from mains failure and is an ideal solution for equipment on sliding rack trays or for those placed in OB vehicles where high levels of vibration may be encountered. The IEC-lock mains cables are offered in 2m, 3m, 4m and 5m lengths. Available in orange and blue, the PVC mains cable has a 7mm outside diameter and rated at 10 amps with a pre-terminated standard Male IEC connector one end and a lockable Female IEC connector on the other.

Also having its first showing at Broadcast Asia 2013 is the Triax HD Pro+ solution.  Produced in conjunction with Draka, this solution combines the best qualities of Fischer connectors and Draka cable, and increases transmission distances by more than 30%. The integrated cable and connector solution designed for indoor and outdoor application maximises the performance of a broadcasters’ Triax equipment without the need for additional investment in fiber, and the subsequent operating costs.

“Broadcast Asia continues to be a significant show in our marketing calendar and provides us with the perfect platform to showcase our latest technology offerings to broadcasters and systems integrators across the Asia Pacific market,” said Steve Wingrove of Argosy Broadcast Asia. “This year’s show will see us introduce some new high-quality solutions that enable our customer to build better, more operationally-efficient broadcast facilities, and to have these products more readily available from our expanded Kuala Lumpur facility.”

Visitors to the stand will see Argosy’s 14-way MDU which makes full use of the 20Amp capability of the Powercon inlet by configuring the outputs in two banks of seven. The two neon–illuminated front panel switches are operated within their 16 amp rating, as each is restricted to 10Amps per bank. This technique allows the unit to deliver 20% more output than conventional single switched units. This product complements the existing popular Argosy 12-port range, which includes, sequential and Powercon units.

Argosy will also demonstrate a variety of its other HD and fibre optic products including, a broad range HD video and audio cables, connectors, high density HD video patch panels, video and audio jackfields, cable markers, cable boots, tools, MDUs, routers, KVM switches, racks, cable drums and network and data products as well as a variety of video accessories.
