Leading colourists and resellers demo Baselight grading software

Baselight, the innovative colour grading system from FilmLight, will be represented by leading colourists and resellers throughout the BVE exhibition in London (from 25–27 February at London ExCel).

Kicking off the FilmLight-featured events is UK-based freelance colourist, Jack Jones. Focusing on Baselight Editions, Jones – who recently graded BBC2’s documentary, Hillsborough – Never Forgotten – will be hosting a seminar in the post-production theatre on Tuesday 25February from 10:45–11:15. During the session Jones will review and discuss the two-way workflow between Avid and Baselight and explain, through real-life examples, why it is his number one choice for colour grading.

Award-winning MPC colourist and Baselight user, Jean-Clement Soret, will also be hosting a seminar at this year’s exhibition. During the session – which runs on 26 February in the post-production theatre from 15:30–16:00 – Soret will present his work on Danny Boyle’s recent movie, Trance, which was graded on Baselight and released in March 2013.

Finally, FilmLight partner and reseller, root6, will be showcasing the latest version of Baselight Editions on stand H16, with live demos also taking place. The FilmLight plugin allows Avid editors to cut in Media Composer or Symphony (Windows or Mac) with instant Baselight grades applied in a render-free round-trip workflow. The Baselight Editions range also includes Baselight for FCP and Baselight for NUKE.
