Vualto, global specialists in innovative content delivery and management, today announced that it was a winner at the first ever Brightcove EMEA Innovation Awards, presented at the company’s annual customer conference, Brightcove PLAY 2014, held in London last month.

The awards recognise some of Brightcove’s most pioneering and cutting-edge digital media and digital marketing customers who are achieving outstanding success with video in EMEA. Vualto received the ‘Best Agency Campaign’ award for the streaming work it completed on the Waitrose TV Christmas Live show, broadcast in December 2013.

“We would like to congratulate both the nominees and customers who have all embraced the power of online video and the impact it can have on their respective businesses,” commented Sue Thexton, Brightcove’s senior vice president of sales for EMEA. “The standard from our customers this year has been so high and we were thoroughly impressed with the creativity, knowledge and innovation that we have experienced.”

Waitrose TV Christmas Live is a festive food and chat show, hosted in 2013 by Phillip Schofield from a small church hall in the Buckinghamshire village of Waddesdon. After successfully supporting the show in 2012, Vualto was asked to return to the 2013 event, which was joined by Heston Blumenthal, Rachel Allen and The Fabulous Baker Brothers.

With no internet connectivity, Vualto used a KA-band satellite solution to stream the event live in HD to two individual platforms – the Waitrose YouTube channel, and the Brightcove powered Waitrose TV website. Vualto was then able to syndicate this feed live to Facebook and Twitter, where viewers could watch live and interact with the show hosts.

“We’re delighted to have won an Innovation Award from our longstanding partners, Brightcove,” commented Camilla Young, co-founder of Vualto. “Our live streaming services are second to none and we have a highly skilled team of specialists that offer a diverse range of solutions. We pride ourselves on our ability to find the answer to suit every event, regardless of any unusual requirements or unique situations.

“For the last two years we have been lucky enough to work with Brightcove and Waitrose on the hugely successful and innovative Christmas show – we hope to continue to do so in the future,” concluded Young.
