Open standards enable broadcasters to choose best of breed technology
Dejero, an innovator in cloud-managed solutions for the transport of live video across challenging IP networks, has joined the recently formed Alliance for IP Media Solutions (AIMS). AIMS was created and is run by leading technology providers to encourage the adoption of open standards and interoperability as the broadcast and media industry transitions from SDI to IP.
“Dejero has always advocated for and is a firm believer in the adoption of open standards,” said Dejero CEO Brian Cram. “We are excited to join with like-minded technology leaders that also believe in interoperability and open APIs to help accelerate the transition to IP and cloud technologies.”
The mandate of the AIMS organization is to bring IP solutions to the market that feature open standards, complete interoperability, and seamless integration across media workflow environments. Such standards allow broadcasters to meet current needs while giving them the agility and flexibility to adjust business models in the future without having to rebuild workflows. AIMS endorses an IP transition plan that includes support for SMPTE 2022-6, AES67, and VSF recommendations TR-03 and TR-04.
