Imagine Communications, empowering the media and entertainment industry through transformative innovation, is showcasing its advanced solutions for broadcasters, service providers and other media companies at NATEXPO (booth A56, VDNH Pavilion 75, Moscow, 16 – 18 November 2016). The demonstrations will focus on practical, deliverable and future-proof solutions for content delivery and monetization.
“Russia is a hugely important market for Imagine Communications, and one which is rapidly seizing the benefits of new advances in technology, including IP, software-defined architectures and the cloud,” said Mathias Eckert, vice president for EMEA at Imagine Communications. “We have a strong presence at NATEXPO to ensure we can discuss upcoming projects in detail, and demonstrate our latest, market-proven solutions to broadcasters that are ready plan their future strategic migrations.”
An important element of that strategic thinking is the need to make a seamless transition from traditional baseband technology, without compromising current investments. Demonstrated at NATEXPO will be processing, distribution and routing systems which continue to support existing baseband infrastructures while providing a transition path to the software-defined future.
At the centre of this demonstration will be the new EPIC™ MV, a software-based, UHD-ready multiviewer that provides broadcasters with a single canvas for all signal types and a seamless transition path to an all-IP future. Powered by Imagine Communications’ open and extensible Zenium™ workflow management platform, EPIC MV is scalable to thousands of streams and hundreds of displays, giving a low total cost of ownership solution which maintains the highest broadcast standards in today’s hybrid environments.
The Selenio One™ next-generation unified transcoding platform will also be demonstrated. This ground-breaking platform aims to provide a single point of preparation and delivery for all OTT and mobile services, reducing overall operating expenditures while maintaining high technical standards to meet audience expectations.
Imagine Communications will showcase the latest version of the Cloud-Native Versio™ IP playout and graphics workflow solution, demonstrating how broadcasters and other media companies can optimize and future-proof their playout operations. Versio supports Ultra HD (UHD) and its software-enabled nature makes it compatible with any deployment model, including on-premises, virtualized/cloud or a hybrid model. Imagine Communications will also feature its market-leading Nexio server platform in playout and newsroom configurations.
Recognising that advertising remains a significant source of revenues for broadcasters, experts from Imagine Communications’ advertising solutions team will be on hand to discuss the latest advances designed to boost monetisation. These include programmatic advertising and dynamic advertising insertion for live streaming.
“While 2016 has seen some remarkable advances towards open, interworking IP solutions, it remains clear that broadcasters want to advance carefully,” concluded Eckert. “Imagine Communications, through its work with AIMS, the Alliance for IP Media Solutions, is helping to set the roadmap for adoption of open standards in IP connectivity, while at the same time we are continuing to support and integrated traditional baseband hardware. Our customers should be able to determine their own pace of transition, but also gain the maximum benefit of the latest developments. I look forward to discussing this with our many good friends in the Russian industry.”
