Megahertz Ltd, the trusted partner for systems integration with years of experience in delivering cost effective, imaginative designs and solutions for fixed and mobile applications, today announced that it has appointed Paul Jones to its executive team, as VP of sales for Asia Pacific, bringing with him over 25 years of experience in broadcast solutions-selling across the region.

Jones joins Megahertz from Oracle’s Asian operations, where, as sales director, he was responsible for the very first Oracle cloud archive deal in the region and held the position as chair of the IABM regional council for APAC. Prior to that, he headed sales for the region at Front Porch Digital as the company’s first APAC employee, working with global brands such as Disney, Sony Pictures and Turner, and with leading regional broadcasters such as RTM, Media Prima, Astro, MediaCorp and Seven Network.

“We’ve brought Paul on board to spearhead our sales strategy and consolidate Megahertz’s recent business activities in the territory, which have included the opening of our Singapore office last year and the recent completion of a number of significant projects with major APAC broadcasters,” said Jon Flay, managing director, Megahertz. “We’ve made it our mission to identify and understand the current and future needs of South-East Asian broadcasters and pay-TV operators; Paul’s industry knowledge and extensive network in this market will be instrumental to furthering our market position as a formidable SI in the region.”

Leveraging on Megahertz’s 30+ years as a trusted global system integrator in the media and entertainment industries, Jones is confident that he can present Asia Pacific broadcasters with the very best options when it comes to rolling out both established and new technologies, including providing guidance and support to those transitioning from baseband to IP-based operations, 4K/UHD operations and file-based workflows, as well as traditional SDI infrastructures.

“I’m delighted to be joining the Megahertz team. They have an excellent global reputation for implementing systems that are not only technically sound, but geared towards improving their customer’s return on investment (ROI) and for generating new revenue – which is exactly what the operators in the region are looking for,” said Jones. “There has been a general decline in broadcast advertising revenue in the South East Asian market, in particular, due to the surge in competition from global OTT/VOD platforms. We’re keen to help them enhance their workflow to keep ahead of that curve, by implementing imaginative design and integration that work to smarter business models, generate engaging content cost effectively and use more efficient multi-platform distribution systems.”

Megahertz’s Asia Pacific team specialize in design and integration services for large facility relocation and upgrade projects, greenfield facilities and high quality coachbuilding for outside broadcast (OB).
