Argosy, a leading international supplier of HD broadcast cables and studio infrastructure products, will demonstrate a range of fibre management solutions at BVE 2014 next month (stand N62, at the ExCel London, 25-27 February 2014).

Leading the BVE 2014 display is the Neutrik opticalCON advanced tactical fibre assemblies, including the opticalCON Duo, opticalCON Quad and the debut of the latest addition to the range, the opticalCON MTP® connection systems.  The MTP offers a 12-channel fibre optic connection system for point-to-point multi-channel routing with a push/pull connector that helps to reduce rigging and de-rigging times in the field. Its innovative spherical shutter is easy to clean and guarantees low maintenance. As well as being easily deployable, the MTP connection system offers a reliable, end-to-end solution with rugged outer-jackets for harsh environments making it an ideal solution for outside broadcast applications.

“We have represented Neutrik for many years and are very excited about their new MTP fibre connection system which will help engineers in the field to quickly and easily rig and de-rig broadcast facilities for live events,” said Chris Smeeton, director at Argosy. “We will be showcasing this product alongside a wide range of our HD infrastructure solutions that meet the exacting needs of broadcasters and systems integrators, however large or small the project.”

Complimenting the opticalCON range will be the first UK showing of the new Cygnus Pro range of portable fibre and hybrid cable testing system from PERCON.  The Cygnus Pro HD-fibre device allows engineers to accurately test signal integrity on opticalCON tactical fibre assemblies and SMPTE camera systems and is fast becoming ubiquitous with broadcasters to link cameras and the control units.

Forming part of the latest additions to the Argosy range on show at BVE this year is the IEC-Lock mains cable, which incorporates a locking mechanism to fasten it to the earth pin.  The connector features a red button, which must be depressed to unlock the lead.  This added feature helps secure critical equipment from mains failure and is an ideal solution for equipment on sliding rack trays or for those placed in OB vehicles where high levels of vibration may be encountered. The IEC-lock mains cables are offered in 1m, 2m, 3m, 4m and 5m lengths. Available in orange and blue, the PVC mains cable has a 7mm outside diameter and rated at 10 amps with a pre-terminated standard Male IEC connector one end and a lockable Female IEC connector on the other.

Smeeton continues, “BVE London is an event at the heart of the UK broadcast community — and is not to be missed!”
