Innovative London facility adds world-leading Baselight colour grading system to network seamlessly with Avid

[22 November 2016]

Boutique post house Azimuth has installed a Baselight ONE 24TB grading suite with Blackboard 2 control surface to bolster its newly revamped London Soho premises. The installation includes the Baselight CONFORM software to ensure the most efficient preparation pipeline. Recognising that advanced colour grading is an increasingly crucial part of post, Azimuth also took the initiative to upgrade its Symphony suites with Baselight for Avid plugins to provide clients with a high-end, proficient workflow.

Since 2011, Azimuth has tailored creative post-production services for a wide range of broadcast, commercial and corporate communications projects. It scored a top three position in a recent poll, which asked corporate producers to name their favourite post provider. Azimuth also boasts multiple edit suites including Avid Media Composer, Premiere Pro and FCP 7, as well as Flame for compositing and state-of-the-art audio facilities.

Baselight for Avid inserts the full Baselight grading toolset into the editorial environment at Azimuth, allowing editors to take more creative colour control than ever before, as well as opening up the possibility of a fluid and flexible exchange of grades between editors and colourists. The plugins feature unlimited layers of colours, inside and outside mattes, variable feathering, as well as live point and area tracking.

Managing Director Fiona Sidwell explains, “Baselight’s seamless integration with Avid makes it faster, easier and cost-effective – this workflow is a real windfall for producers.”

The team at Azimuth, headed by Sidwell, was determined to improve the quality, speed, flexibility and efficiency of the company’s service offering on every level, affirming why they rely on FilmLight. “The world’s most powerful colour grading and finishing system is Baselight, and it’s the first choice for content creators and colourists everywhere. We are very proud to announce the launch of Baselight at our Soho facility.”
